  • Physical Therapy

Although we treat all joint and muscular pain, we treat the body as a whole. If the spine and pelvis are out of balance, then it affects how the rest of the body functions. If the foot mechanics are off, then it can affect the knee or the hip. Our therapists carefully assess the exact cause of your pain and address the dysfunction. Your treatment plan will be carefully supervised one-on-one by your therapist. Manual therapy techniques are used to restore musculoskeletal or joint restrictions. Therapeutic exercises are used to increase strength, flexibility, or dynamic balance. Postural and body mechanics education are important for reducing strain on your body and preventing future injuries. Kinesio Taping or orthotics fabrication can be utilized to help with body mechanics during daily living. Modalities such as dry needling, biofeedback, shockwave therapy, or ultrasound are helpful to control pain and provide relaxation.

  • Dry Needling Services

In the treatment of trigger points for persons with myofascial pain syndrome, dry needling is an invasive procedure in which an acupuncture-like filiform needle is inserted into the skin and muscle directly at a myofascial trigger point. A myofascial trigger point consists of multiple contraction knots, which are related to the production and maintenance of the pain cycle. Deep dry needling for treating trigger points is becoming a popular form of treatment modality used by the physical therapist to aid in the reduction of pain and restore pain-free motion.

  • Shockwave therapy session

Shockwave therapy works by sending high-energy pulses to the affected area, which stimulates cellular repair, increases blood flow, and promotes collagen cell production. This process can break down scar tissue, reduce inflammation, and enhance tissue regeneration. Mechanistically, it triggers mechanotransduction, leading to cell proliferation , which is particularly beneficial for tendon and bone healing. It also modulates pain pathways, providing relief from chronic discomfort.

  • Schroth Method for Scoliosis

The SCHROTH method was designed in Germany in the early 1900s and has been introduced into the United States in the last three decades. Evaluation and treatment are three dimensional and patient focused. Scoliosis is characterized by more than the lateral, side bending curves. The spinal segments rotate and tilt as the spine sidebends creating disc and nerve compression, shortening muscles on the concave side, and weakening muscles on the convex side. The rib cage compresses the lungs in some cases and curves can be present from the sacrum to the neck. A thorough evaluation of the patient’s x-rays helps to determine the specific type of scoliosis and a treatment plan is then developed after an in-person examination.
